Bio

A selfie of me, a white woman with pale, sunkissed skin, freckles, and a wide smile. I have dark auburn hair cut in a bob, and dark hazel eyes. I am out kayaking on the marsh which can be seen behind me, slow green-grey water and spartina grass waving. I am wearing a plaid Clemson University baseball cap and a magenta long sleeve shirt.

C.G. Aubrey is a queer, autistic writer and outdoor enthusiast obsessed with yellow leaves, pluff mud, and em dashes. She holds dual-masters degrees in US History and Religious Studies and often finds inspiration at the intersection of cultural memory, religion, and the environment. Her story “A Predatory Transience” appeared in Reckoning in 2023, and she’s been editing there ever since. When she isn’t writing or lost in research, she can be found taking too many selfies with the local trees or chasing swamp rainbows. Occasionally, she surfaces on Instagram @c.g.aubrey or Bluesky, to ramble about her many adventures.
